It was a night for celebration as CMT took home two big honors at the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Illinois Engineering Excellence Awards Gala in Chicago on Friday, March 1. CMT’s Barrington Road at I-90 Interchange & Park-n-Ride project was presented with the Abraham Lincoln’s Grand Conceptor Award – making it the top engineering project in the state of Illinois for 2019.

“It’s always great to be recognized by your peers and your clients,” said Dan Meckes, CMT’s Chief Executive Officer. “This innovative project was successful due to the teamwork and collaboration of our project partners, the Village of Hoffman Estates, Illinois Tollway, IDOT and PACE.”

As the winner of the Grand Conceptor award, the Barrington Road project demonstrated the highest degree of merit in originality and innovation, providing value to the engineering profession, enhancing the public’s understanding and appreciation of the engineering profession, providing economic and sustainable benefits to the community, and exceeding the clients’ expectations.

In addition to the Grand Conceptor Award, CMT’s Sugar Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant project was presented with an Honor Award and was named the top project in the Waste and Stormwater category. CMT would like to thank the Sangamon County Water Reclamation District for entrusting us with this important project and we proudly share this honor with them.
