University of Illinois Springfield Baseball Turf 3

University of Illinois Springfield Baseball Field

Artificial Turf that Sustains During Prohibitive Weather Conditions

Artificial Turf Baseball Field

University of Illinois Springfield

Crawford, Murphy & Tilly (CMT) was selected under a civil and structural retainer agreement to provide design and construction services for a new artificial turf project for the University of Illinois Springfield’s collegiate baseball field. CMT worked closely with baseball staff and the UIS construction director to provide a field that meets both NCAA standards as well as the staff’s objectives. The end-result is a high-quality field that will allow games to take place during otherwise prohibitive weather conditions. A subsurface drainage system was designed consisting of an aggregate layer with low-profile drainage tiles and an outlet storm sewer sized to serve future campus development. CMT utilized our drone to provide supplemental topographic data for design.
