Crawford, Murphy & Tilly’s (CMT) Nate Davis, PE, ENV SP, was recently named to the Springfield Business Journal’s list of Forty Under 40. The Springfield, IL-based publication annually recognizes young professionals based on their leadership and accomplishments, in Springfield and the surrounding area, both in their chosen fields and in their communities.
Mr. Davis has worked in the Water Resources Group at CMT for 16 years where he is focused on addressing wastewater conveyance and treatment needs. As a CMT Project Manager/Engineer, he is distinguished as an information resource to clients in helping to understand and navigate the increasingly complex implementation requirements of the Clean Water Act and presents regularly at industry conferences.
Mr. Davis received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Bradley University. He is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois and Ohio and is active in his profession contributing to the following industry associations in various capacities:
- Illinois Water Environment Association (IWEA)
- Illinois Association of Wastewater Agencies (IAWA)
- Water Environment Federation (WEF)

He is a fantastic engineer, teammate, and person,” said Christy Crites, Vice President and Wastewater Group Manager in Springfield, IL, and Nate’s supervisor. She continued, “He espouses the values of CMT, honesty, integrity, etc.”
Outside of the office, Nate enjoys spending time with his wife and their three children. He also enjoys playing golf, kayaking, and hiking. Nate is a frequent volunteer for United Way events and the Springfield Citizens Club.
