Chicago O’Hare EIS and EAs
Chicago O'Hare International Airport
FAA and City of Chicago, Illinois |

CMT has partnered with the FAA on several recent NEPA related projects at Chicago O’Hare International Airport. In preparing environmental documents for O’Hare, CMT worked closely with the FAA to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, and with affected stakeholders to provide timely responses to their concerns. Over the past four years, CMT has overseen completion of two Environmental Assessments and the Environmental Impact Statement for the massive $7.5B O’Hare Modernization Program to enhance capacity at O’Hare – a program that will have worldwide implications in overall capacity.
CMT has been responsible for NEPA documentation, planning document reviews, detailed analyses, public involvement and agency coordination. Consistently strong project management and industry-leading technical resources are key reasons for the successful completion of major projects such as the O’Hare Modernization Program EIS. The Record of Decision was signed in September of 2005, three years following the Notice to Proceed. Upon completion of the Modernization Program EIS, an FAA official assessed our performance with the statement that CMT “partnered with the ADO in setting a new national standard for timely completion of a major EIS.” |
