“Shannon has distinguished herself as a leader within the company and in the community. I have worked alongside her for 16 years and can attest to the importance she places on serving others, both inside and outside of the office,” said Christy Crites, CMT wastewater group manager.
Shannon is also involved in the water resources infrastructure industry. She is a member of the Water Environment Federation (WEF), the Illinois Water Environment Association (IWEA), the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers (ISPE) and has been a member of the Young Professionals Group at the American Water Works Association (AWWA). She is an accredited Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP). Envision™ is a resource that facilitates the development and maintenance of sustainable infrastructure and Shannon is a leader in CMT’s move toward sustainable designs. She is committed to finding sustainable solutions for water infrastructure problems and needs.
Shannon is very active as a community volunteer. She is involved at her children’s school and has been a room parent, GALA fundraising committee member, member of the Parent’s Club and has volunteered in various other capacities at St. Agnes school. She prides herself on being an involved parent and is a volunteer for her daughter’s swim team and is a sideline cheerleader for her son’s soccer team. She has been a member of CMT’s team with the local United Way’s Days of Action. She is also actively involved in developing the next generation of female engineers by mentoring through Expanding Your Horizons in Math and Science as well as many one-on-one mentoring opportunities with young women throughout the community.
Shannon hails from Mt. Vernon, Indiana (near Evansville, IN) and has been married for 12 years. She has two children who remind her daily of the importance of family and community.
