Steve Schroll, PE, is retiring from Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc. (CMT) after a 31-year career with the firm that saw him rise to the positions of Director of Building & Site Services and Senior Vice President. He also served on the firm’s Board of Directors from 2008 to 2015.
“During his three decades with CMT, Steve did an excellent job in living out our firm’s values, both in his work and the relationships he developed with clients,” said Dan Meckes, CMT CEO. “His leadership and friendship will be missed, but we certainly wish him all the best in retirement.”
Schroll joined CMT in 1988 after serving six years at another firm. He was instrumental in building CMT’s land development services and bringing in new clients that were key to CMT’s growth during the late 1990s and into the new millennium. Schroll also served as chairman of CMT’s Safety Committee and Project Management System.
“Steve’s dedication to CMT, as well as his technical mentorship to those who are following behind, has laid the groundwork for a bright future for our unit,” said Chris Stritzel, who will be succeeding Schroll as Director of Building & Site Services.
In addition to his work with CMT, Schroll has been dedicated in support of the engineering industry. He has been actively involved with the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce and Sustainable Springfield, Inc.
