Purdue University Engineering Alumni Achievement Award, Bailey

The Purdue University Lyles School of Civil Engineering has presented CMT’s Bill Bailey, Jr., with the 2021 Civil Engineering Alumni Achievement Award. The award was presented to Mr. Bailey on April 15th, 2021, in a virtual ceremony that included him and other 2021 awardees.

“Congrats to Bill on this well-deserved honor from such a prestigious university!,” said Dan Meckes, CMT’s Chairman and CEO.

Bill received his bachelor’s in civil engineering in 1988 and his master’s in civil engineering in 1989, both from Purdue. Immediately after, he began working at CMT in Springfield, IL, as a structural engineer. He has gone on to spend his entire career at CMT, working his way up through various leadership positions.

In 2004, Bill returned to his home state of Indiana to serve as manager in the CMT Indianapolis office, where the location has grown considerably during his tenure. In 2018, he became the sixth president of CMT.

“I’m really honored and grateful to be recognized for this award by the great faculty at Purdue. The foundation for my career was solidified through the great academics, co-operative education experiences, and campus experiences I received while a student, but I’ve received support and encouragement from my Purdue family since that time as well,” said Bill.
