CMT is pleased to announce that on Thursday, September 30, Abby Higgins was awarded the CMT-sponsored Lyles School of Civil Engineering scholarship at the Purdue University Scholarship dinner.
Established in 2015, this scholarship recognizes outstanding students who have demonstrated promise in civil engineering. It is based, in part, upon academic achievement and a record of self-support while attending college. Preference is given to a resident of Indiana, Illinois, or Ohio and they must be enrolled in the Lyles School of Civil Engineering.
Bill Bailey, CMT’s President and Purdue alum, and his wife, were in attendance at the dinner and joined Ms. Higgins. A Junior at Purdue, Ms. Higgins is studying Architectural Engineering and is from Evansville, IN. Also in attendance and addressing the scholarship recipients was Dr. Rao Govindaraju, Bowen Engineering Head of Civil Engineering and Christopher B. and Susan S. Burke Professor of Civil Engineering.
CMT is committed to sponsoring these scholarships that support hard-working students to help ensure talented young minds continue to make their way into the engineering profession.
