For the last 21 years, the Design-Build Institute of America Mid-America Region (DBIA-MAR) has recognized excellence in design-build practices and informed the public of the breadth and value of design-build delivery.*

This year two projects from the Design-Build Team of Missouri American Water, Goodwin Brothers Construction Co., and CMT were provided DBIA-MAR awards.

The first project, the Jefferson City Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Clearwell & High Services Pump Station in Jefferson City, MO, won the Special Award for Horizontal Design Excellence. The high-service pumping facilities are divided into two cells that can be isolated for inspection and maintenance without taking the other out of service. Four pumps were included along with significant electrical improvements, providing enhanced flexibility during a power outage.

The second project, the Stratmann Pump Station in St. Louis, MO, won the Merit Award in the Civil Category. The Stratmann Pump Station provides a state-of-the-art design that allows for flexibility in operation and redundancy for backup, while operating at the most energy-efficient condition possible.

Congratulations to these teams on a job well done!
