Crawford, Murphy & Tilly (CMT) holds company-wide meetings throughout the year to provide progress updates on strategic initiatives, share insights across disciplines and geographies, and recognize professional excellence and outstanding contributions to the firm. During the most recent meeting, CMT’s Recognition Committee, along with CMT CEO Bill Bailey, PE, SE, presented five awards to deserving individuals. Firm leaders also highlighted milestone employment anniversaries, announced new professional certification recipients, and welcomed new team members and interns who joined CMT in the past year. Recognizing Professional Excellence
CMT’s long-standing employee recognition program is a testament to the firm’s commitment to expressing appreciation for employee contributions and excellence. At the most recent company-wide meeting, CMT’s Recognition Committee introduced five awards honoring individuals at CMT. All awarded individuals were nominated by colleagues at the firm. Emerging Professional Award
This award recognizes individuals who exhibit strong involvement with CMT or professional organizations. It pays tribute to those who serve as positive influences within the firm, demonstrating qualities of service, fellowship, leadership, and unwavering commitment.
Congratulations to Jenny McEachern, PE, CMT’s outstanding Emerging Professional.
Jenny is a transportation engineer at CMT and a strong advocate for continuous improvement. She actively supports CMT’s CI² initiative by regularly contributing to the firm’s internal knowledge management system. She also plays a key role in nurturing talent and ideas as a member of CMT’s Young Professionals Planning Group. Outside of CMT, she has helped raise over $20,000 as an active member of the National Museum of Transportation Young Professionals Board. She was also one of only 100 professionals nationwide selected for the prestigious Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) International Signature Leadership Training program – highlighting her drive to grow and lead in the transportation profession. In addition, Jenny serves the American Public Works Association (APWA) Missouri Chapter by supporting conference planning and contributing to the strategic planning technology team. CMT proudly recognizes Jenny for her meaningful contributions to both the firm and the broader transportation community.
Leadership Award
This award recognizes a team member with exceptional leadership qualities – one who inspires and motivates those around them. This recognition is bestowed upon individuals who display initiative in implementing transformative changes, as well as fostering a culture of respect and inclusivity throughout the organization.
Congratulations to Craig Louden, PE, the recipient of CMT’s Leadership Award.
Based in CMT’s Aurora, IL office, Craig serves as an aviation project manager in the Aviation Group and is widely known for going the extra mile to deliver outstanding results. Craig is routinely recognized for his strong communication skills, thoroughness, and diligence in problem-solving and quality deliverables. Craig is widely respected for his commitment to high standards and quality – not only in his work but in how he inspires and motivates those around him. Furthermore, his leadership is marked by genuine care for clients and a deep understanding of their unique challenges, making him a trusted partner and advisor. Recently, he has also played a key role in expanding CMT’s aviation services across the Wisconsin and Iowa regions, helping to build strong client relationships, identify emerging opportunities, and lead strategic project pursuits. His efforts have contributed to the firm’s growth, bringing CMT’s high standards of quality, service, and innovation to new markets and clients. As a mentor and role model, Craig positively impacts both staff and stakeholders through his example and guidance. CMT congratulates Craig on receiving the Leadership Award.
Mentoring Excellence Award
This award highlights an individual’s commitment to mentoring, developing, and supporting the team. The recognized individual contributes to the growth of their colleagues by nurturing the professional development of others and investing their time to help others reach their full potential. This person recognizes the unique strengths and talents of their team members and skillfully harnesses those qualities to drive success.
Congratulations to Todd Strong, the recipient of CMT’s Mentoring Excellence Award.
Todd has 40 years of experience in the transportation and construction industry, overseeing all phases of multimillion-dollar construction, infrastructure, and environmental projects. He has earned high praise from colleagues for their dedication to mentoring, developing, and inspiring the team. Known for leading by example, he actively contributes to shaping CMT’s culture by fostering character and career growth. Todd’s commitment to career development is evident through regular job site visits where he teaches technical skills and leadership to new field staff. Furthermore, he has been instrumental in growing CMT’s inspection team and expanding the firm’s construction presence in the St. Louis, MO, market. CMT celebrates Todd’s remarkable leadership and unwavering commitment to developing the next generation of transportation professionals.
Community Service Award
This award recognizes an employee’s exemplary service to their community and their overall representation of CMT’s values and guiding principles.
Congratulations to Nathan Murphy, the recipient of CMT’s Community Service Award.
Nathan is a water resources engineer who exemplifies what it means to give back. He has made corporate social responsibility a cornerstone of both his career and his character. He has been deeply involved with organizations like Engineers Without Borders (EWB) for several years and currently serves as vice president of the St. Louis, MO, chapter. Through his work with EWB, Nathan has traveled to Bolivia and Nicaragua on multiple occasions, helping to bring safe, clean drinking water to underserved communities. His efforts reflect a deep commitment to using his professional expertise to create meaningful, lasting change. CMT congratulates Nathan on his continued dedication to service.
Professional Dedication Award
The award recognizes employees who have shared expertise with others in their profession by writing papers for publications or preparing and delivering presentations to professional organizations.
Congratulations to Matt Sainz, PE, the recipient of CMT’s Professional Dedication Award.
Matt is a dedicated water resources engineer and project manager who consistently demonstrates leadership and commitment to advancing the water industry. His impact extends beyond project work into meaningful involvement with professional and community organizations. Matt has been a long-time member of the Engineers Club of St. Louis, MO, currently serving as a director on the executive board and contributing to several committees. He is also actively involved in the Missouri American Water Works Association, where he chairs the Student Activities Committee, inspiring students to explore careers in the profession. His service includes participation on the American Council of Engineering Companies Environmental Committee and the Alumni Board of St. Louis University High School. In addition to his volunteer leadership, Matt shares his knowledge through conference presentations and published articles that contribute to the growth and innovation of the profession. CMT proudly recognizes Matt for his professional dedication.
Welcoming New Teammates
Since July 12, 2024, CMT has welcomed 67 new employees across 17 different offices. CMT is proud of the positive and lasting impact each of these individuals has already made on the firm.
