A Parallel Path to Safety
Taxiway C Extension
Port Bucyrus-Crawford County Airport | City of Bucyrus, OH
Crawford, Murphy & Tilly (CMT) has been serving the City of Bucyrus, OH, and the Port Bucyrus-Crawford County Airport since 2015, focusing on improving airport safety and infrastructure. A key project involved extending the main runway’s parallel taxiway to enhance safety and operational efficiency. CMT designed and executed a 2,600-foot taxiway extension, addressing subgrade stabilization, stormwater drainage, LED lighting, NAVAID relocation, and pavement construction to meet FAA standards. By first completing smaller safety projects to bring the airfield into compliance, CMT helped secure a $1.8 million FAA grant covering the full cost of the taxiway extension. These improvements have enhanced airport safety and operational capacity, setting the stage for further facility upgrades.
