Award-Winning Comprehensive Plan Update for Fast-Growing City

Following adoption, the effective implementation of a comprehensive plan can be one of the most challenging aspects for a community.  It requires regular checks to be sure goals and objectives are being consistently pursued over a 10-20 year timeframe. The Marshfield Community Growth Plan’s implementation element is a best practice model where plan objectives and action items are assigned a completion date and a specific community partner (in addition to the city) responsible for its long-term success.

Public utility improvements such as sanitary sewer extensions and roadway improvements represent the most costly capital costs to a community. Long-range planning of these expensive facilities is critical but can also be hard to predict in a changing market.
