Pavement Rehabilitation with Sustainable Benefits
Runway 6-24 Rehabilitation
A wide range of pavement rehabilitation methods were incorporated to maximize the re-use of pavements and reduce costs. During project design, several large modifications were added, eventually doubling the scope of the project. To accommodate the addition of hardened overruns Crawford, Murphy & Tilly (CMT) developed and facilitated the approval of a new military design standard for lighting, marking and signage that could be applied at other military airfields and incorporated into the military’s Uniform Facility Criteria (UFC).
The Deputy Base Civil Engineer rated CMT’s performance throughout design and construction as “overwhelmingly excellent,” citing CMT’s ability to proactively provide solutions to government change orders and innovative designs to unanticipated field problems during construction.
The very quick turnaround times on contract modifation designs and proposal evaluations are the most impressive attributes of the Team. Their quick and definitive technical solutions to field problems and RFIs contributed immensely to the success of this project. I recommend CMT without reservations!
