A Successful Sports Venue in Indianapolis

New World Sports Park

Indianapolis, IN Department of Public Works

This project, led by Crawford, Murphy & Tilly (CMT), converted an existing community park into the Indianapolis World Sports Park, a facility that continues a long line of successful sports venues that contribute greatly to the city’s economic growth and quality of life. This one-of-a-kind facility features athletic fields developed to meet professional standards for the international sports of cricket, hurling, Gaelic football, Australian rules football, rugby, lacrosse, field hockey and soccer. An innovative stormwater management solution was developed to maximize sustainability and a specialty turf growing media was developed to accommodate the precise specifications required for each sport. CMT coordinated the specific needs of various associations to deliver a park that has been praised at both the national and international levels by sports executives who believe it is the finest facility of its kind in the US.

The project has resulted in an international athletic venue that is unequaled in the US and will promote economic development opportunities and increased international exposure for Indianapolis. The sustainable facility provides 17 acres of field turf to accommodate eight sports that are growing in popularity in the U.S., despite limited available fields built to professional athletic standards.  Because of the structure and amenities on site, the facility can be used for youth practices and skill development, and easily expanded to host professional competitions at the highest level of international play.

I am greatly impressed with the effort, dedication and professionalism displayed by all members of the Crawford, Murphy & Tilly staff. CMT makes my job a lot easier.
