KB Environmental Services

Crawford, Murphy & Tilly (CMT) is excited to announce the addition of KB Environmental Sciences (KBE) of St. Petersburg, Florida to our growing team. The St. Petersburg office is CMT’s third location in the Sunshine State. Ten former KBE employees will be joining CMT as a result of the acquisition.

Since 2004, KBE has been providing environmental services for infrastructure projects including airports, roadways, land development, seaports, and railroads. The firm is recognized nationally for its authority in air quality and noise analysis/assessment capabilities to airports across the country. This includes their active involvement on the Design Review Group during the development and refinement of FAA’s Aviation Environmental Design Tool (AEDT) and serving as the primary author of the FAA’s Air Quality Handbook.

Integrating KBE staff will complement CMT’s growing practices in both aviation and environmental services. The two firms have enjoyed a long and successful working relationship, beginning with the Chicago O’Hare Modernization Program Environmental Impact (EIS) project that began in 2005.

The addition of KBE’s expertise strengthens CMT’s existing Environmental Services team, adding a wide variety of air quality services including modeling, inventories, assessments, and permitting along with additional depth in all CMT environmental service offerings.

“We are truly enthusiastic about bringing the KB team on board with CMT,” said CMT CEO Dan Meckes. “We knew early on that we shared similar values and that coming together would be mutually beneficial for both of our companies.”

Carrol Fowler, KBE’s President stated that “We’re excited to join CMT and to have the opportunity to more closely work with “old friends” while creating new relationships with both other CMT staff members and CMT’s clients.”
