Daniel Meckes Assumes ACEC Vice Chair

Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc. Board Chair Daniel Meckes, PE, has assumed the role of 2023-2025 Executive Committee Vice Chair for the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), the oldest and largest professional trade organization of engineering companies. Meckes and his fellow officers began their terms at ACEC’s 2023 Spring Convention and Legislative Summit, which took place June 11-14, 2023, in Washington, D.C.

“It’s a great honor to be trusted with advancing the work of ACEC, a long-standing and highly regarded organization that does so much to advance the engineering industry,” Meckes said. “In what is a very exciting time for our sector, I look forward to serving the organization.”

Meckes is a member of the ACEC Transportation Committee as well as the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Committee and has supported ACEC’s Political Action Committee – ACEC/PAC – as a member of the Chairman’s Club for over seven years. Additionally, he is a graduate of Class 9 of the ACEC Senior Executives Institute (SEI).

Meckes, who serves as CMT Board Chair and will reach his 40th year with the firm later in 2023, has held many leadership roles both within and outside of the firm: Meckes served as CEO of CMT from 2013 to 2023; previously served as President of the Central Illinois chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE); and served as Board Chair of ACEC-Missouri for the 2016-2017 term. Dan also serves on the Missouri Chamber Board and the Illinois Chamber PAC Board, and he previously served as Chair of the Sustainable Funding for Infrastructure Group of Illinois ($FIG).

Dan holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Marquette University and is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois and Missouri.
