Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc. has announced the addition of Jeffery E. Large, PE, SE, to its board of directors. Large was elected by CMT shareholders during their annual meeting on Feb. 22, 2025, and will serve as a director.

“Jeff’s strategic-thinking and leadership skills, paired with his technical expertise, make him a valuable asset to our board and to CMT as a whole,” said CEO and Board Chair Bill Bailey. “We are confident that his wealth of experience and forward-thinking approach will help propel CMT’s growth and continued success, and we look forward to his contributions to the board.”

Based in CMT’s Springfield, Ill., office, Large joined the firm’s water resources department in 2006. He became a project manager in 2012 and has served in the role of chief structural engineer since 2022. Large brings to the team and to clients extensive experience in structural engineering, with a focus on water and wastewater infrastructure and building projects.

“It is a great honor to join the CMT Board of Directors,” Large said. “I look forward to working alongside my fellow board members in service to CMT and continuing to advance the firm’s esteemed legacy.”

Beyond his technical expertise, Large is also a significant contributor to the firm’s strategic planning initiatives. Furthermore, he has provided ongoing service to numerous professional and community organizations through key leadership roles. He has served as president at the state and chapter levels of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers (ISPE); board member of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois; and chair of the Illinois Engineering Initiative. Currently, Large is first vice chair of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce and a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Risk Management Committee.

He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering, with a specialization in structural engineering, from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
