Stormwater Practice Lead
There’s a lot of STEM involved in what Tim Sumner does. Data plays a big role in determining how improvements to sewer collection systems should be prioritized to comply with regulatory requirements and remain within budget. But Tim knows that to deliver an optimal solution, there are human elements that are equally important.
“When it comes to providing excellent customer service, one thing that stands out to me is making sure we have thought about and asked how the owner will operate and maintain the facilities,” Tim says. “That’s the only way we can ensure we are providing a product that is truly sustainable.”
As CMT’s Stormwater Practice Lead, our Water Resources professionals rely on Tim’s expertise related to rainfall runoff and stormwater management. And he’s grateful to have so many sharp minds on the team that he can tap into for input as well.
“My coworkers have different experiences and viewpoints, which means they may be able to help me solve a problem that has me stumped or just help me see things from a different perspective.”
Outside of work, Tim and his family enjoy traveling the world. He loves experiencing other cultures and is always reminded how essential civil infrastructure is to maintaining a high quality of life.
