Senior Aviation Project Manager
Throughout his career, Travis Strait has played a critical role in sequencing and phasing of aviation projects impacting the entirety of an airport’s operational area. In his experience, successfully phasing these large projects is as much of an art, as it is a feat of engineering.
“You need to balance stakeholders’ considerations, while providing a project that can be reasonably executed by the contractor,” Travis says. “Maintaining airfield operations and limiting impacts to the airport during project construction can be challenging, but also very rewarding when a plan all comes together.”
Travis is a senior aviation project manager of CMT’s Moline, IL office. Clients rely on his expertise on everything from pavement structural design analysis to maximizing project funding opportunities. He enjoys the problem-solving inherent in engineering while he is leading a project from conception to programming, then on to design and construction. Travis thinks of himself less as a hired consultant and more as an extension of the airport’s staff.
“We’re hired to make our clients’ life easier. For me, that means proactively anticipating challenges so that the client is never blindsided or has to make a difficult decision without being prepared.”
When he’s not serving clients, Travis likes to enjoy the outdoors with his wife and two children.
