CMT’s interns are an essential part of our workforce. It is an honor to offer experiences that provide a solid foundation to the students of today who will soon be the leaders of tomorrow. Read on to learn about recent experiences in the CMT Internship Program.
My experience has been very fulfilling. I’ve built good relationships with my coworkers and have learnt a lot from a technical perspective.
It has been great, and I’ve learned a great deal of information. The internship has also been very good with providing real-world experience, and I’ve met some great people.
CMT has been a blessing and a ride. It’s been tough at times, but I’ve enjoyed it and learned so much.
The field work has been my favorite part. I have mucked around in a prairie wetland to delineate it, flushed fire hydrants for a week, and went surveying. On the surveying day, I even got to take some of my own shots! I’ve learned a ton about Civil 3D, how a design project works, and the whole process – from bid to proposal.
I’ve been involved with some structural modeling and have learned three different software programs. I’ve also gotten to do some hand calculations with steel connections and beams. Lastly, I’ve been able to network with other structural engineers at CMT.
I have learned a lot from everyone in this office and everyone is very willing to help me when I need it. It is an ideal environment to work in.
