Driskell, Roger

Crawford, Murphy & Tilly (CMT) is committed to providing its transportation clients with value-based solutions to the challenges that they face. In keeping with this mission, they are pleased to announce the hiring of Roger Driskell, PE, as Director of Innovative Project Delivery. Driskell comes to CMT after a 32-year career with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT).

“We are excited to have Roger join the CMT team.  We have worked with him throughout his IDOT career, and have always respected his integrity, professionalism, and expertise, along with his ability to collaborate with industry and the general public to solve transportation challenges in a cost- effective manner,” says President and CEO Dan Meckes. “We believe Roger fits very well into our culture and that he will strengthen our ability to provide value to clients.”

Roger’s career at IDOT included leadership positions at both the District and Central Office level. His most recent position with IDOT was as Director of Office of Planning and Programming and heading up the Bureau of Innovative Project Delivery, where he led the development of strategies to address changes in the industry brought about by aging infrastructure and severely constrained budgets. He was responsible for investigating, reviewing and implementing such alternatives as Private-Public Partnerships, Design-Build, and Construction Manager/General Contractor delivery methods, along with alternative financing strategies.

“This is certainly a challenging time for the transportation community,” Driskell said. “I’m looking forward to combining my experiences with what CMT is doing to help agencies, both at the state and local level, to find the solutions that best fit their needs.”

As CMT’s Director of Innovative Project Delivery, Driskell will be responsible for advancing alternative project delivery, while supporting growth of the firm’s surface transportation services.

Before joining CMT, Driskell spent his entire 32-year career with IDOT, rising through the ranks and assuming increased responsibility for maintaining and improving the state’s extensive transportation system. He brings a history of exceptional leadership for state and national industry groups focused on transportation and alternative delivery.

CMT would like to welcome Roger Driskell aboard, a valuable addition to the firm’s value-focused team of transportation professionals.
